Biography[]

Anthony Stabile was born in Sunnyside, Queens, New York City on 27 December 1904 to a family of Italian descent. Stabile was the brother of Thomas Stabile, who would rise above him to become a caporegime of the Lucchese crime family. Anthony Stabile became a member of the Gambino crime family, but he was also an associate of the Lucchese crime family, taking part in many hijacking jobs at the JFK International Airport. Stabile became friends with Henry Hill, helping to cover up an affair from Hill's wife Karen, and he became involved in narcotics trafficking with Hill, Tommy DeVito, and Jimmy Conway. He was later picked to murder Henry Hill during a mission to Florida to kill Bobby Germaine's son Robert Germaine Jr., but Hill instead escaped into the Witness Protection Program. In 1985, Stabile was found shot in the head in the trunk of his burning Cadillac in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
