Anthony Gonzalez

Anthony Gonzalez (18 September 1984-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-OH 16) from 3 January 2019 to 3 January 2023, succeeding Jim Renacci.

Biography[]

Anthony Gonzalez was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1984, the son of a Cuban immigrant steel-industry president. He played in the NFL as a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts from 2007 to 2011 and for the New England Patriots in 2012, and he later decided to enter politics as a Republican. In 2018, he was elected to the US House of Representatives. On 13 January 2021, he distinguished himself as one of the ten Republicans to vote in favor of Donald Trump's second impeachment in the aftermath of the 2021 United States coup d'etat attempt. His seat was eliminated by the post-Census redistricting in 2021.
