Anthony Diasio

Anthony Diasio (died 2006) was a Patriarca crime family mobster.

Biography[]

Anthony Diasio was born in Providence, Rhode Island to a family of Italian descent, and he became an enforcer for the Patriarca crime family of the American Mafia. In 2006, Diasio and Sam Chiari were sent to Boston to collect protection money from Park Luncheonette owner Jappreet Singh, and they insulted the Irish residents of South Boston at the same time. Irish customer Billy Costigan sarcastically asked the two if they were delivering cannolis, and he then proceeded to attack them both. He beat both of them down, using a clothing pole to hit Diasio several times before being kicked out of the store. Diasio and Chiari tried to head back to Providence to warn the family about Costigan's actions and to gather a hit squad, but they were intercepted by Irish Mob boss Francis Costello, handcuffed with duct tape, and shot execution-style in the head. Their bodies were left in the green area of the highway to Providence, and Greek mobster Jimmy Pappas was framed for their murders.
