Anthony Francesco Corrado (22 March 1980 - April 2008) was a Pegorino crime family associate and the personal bodyguard of Pegorino boss Jimmy Pegorino, his adoptive father. In 2008, he turned states against Pegorino after the FBI threatened to incarcerate him for a long time, and he was murdered by Niko Bellic in the Weehawken Memorial Hospital after he suffered a heart attack.
Biography[]
Anthony Corrado was born in Weehawken, New Jersey, United States in 1980 to a family of Italian descent, and he lost his parents when he was young. Corrado was adopted by American Mafia boss Jimmy Pegorino at a young age, as Pegorino's own son had killed himself; Corrado was raised as Pegorino's son. Corrado was engaged in criminal activities from a young age; he was arrested in 1995 for hijacking, in 1996 for assault, and in 1997 for manslaughter, all committed in the name of the Pegorino crime family. He became his father's personal bodyguard, and he was frequently abused by Pegorino; in early 2008, he was admitted to a hospital after being severely beaten by his father. Corrado was not satisfied with the role that he had in the family, and he ultimately decided to join the Witness Protection Program (WPP) to avoid a long prison sentence. Corrado wore a wire when he talked with Pegorino, and Pegorino called him on the cell phone and threatened his life, leading to Corrado - who suffered from a heart condition - to have a heart attack as he talked with Pegorino.
Death[]
Corrado managed to survive the heart attack and be taken to the Weehawken Memorial Hospital, where he was held under heavy guard by state police and FBI agents. Pegorino sent Niko Bellic to murder Corrado in the hospital to silence him, and Bellic dressed up in a doctor's scrubs when he entered the locker room. Bellic managed to blend in with the other doctors and make it to Corrado's room, and Bellic asked Sebastian D. Bell if the two men could have some privacy. A delirious Corrado asked if the doctor was Pegorino, and he reminisced about when he first greeted Bellic. Bellic pulled the wire from Corrado's life support machine, and Corrado said, "Tell Peg I'm sorry" before suffering from a massive heart attack and dying. This led to the Weehawken Memorial Hospital shootout between Bellic and the responding policemen.
