Anson Herrick

Anson Herrick (21 January 1812 – 6 February 1868) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 9) from 4 March 1863 to 3 March 1865, succeeding Edward Haight and preceding William Augustus Darling.

Biography[]

Anson Herrick was born in Lewiston, Maine in 1812, and he published The Citizen at Wiscasset in 1833 before moving to New York City in 1836. He published the New York Atlas from 1838 until his death in 1868, and he entered politics as a Democrat. He served as an alderman from 1853 to 1857, as naval storekeeper of New York City from 1857 to 1861, and in the US House of Representatives from 1863 to 1865, and he died in 1868.
