Ansel Tracy Walling (10 January 1824 – 22 June 1896) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-OH 12) from 4 March 1875 to 3 March 1877, succeeding William E. Finck and preceding Thomas Ewing Jr..
Biography[]
Ansel Tracy Walling was born in Otsego County, New York in 1824, and he was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania before becoming a printer in Ohio in 1843. He practiced law in Keokuk, Iowa while publishing a newspaper, and he served as a delegate to the 1856 Democratic National Convention before returning to Circleville, Ohio in 1861. He served in the state senate in 1865, the state house in 1867, and the US House of Representatives from 1875 to 1877, and he died in 1896.
