Anna Abramson (1840-1876) was a member of the Blighters gang of London.
Biography[]
Anna Abramson was born in London to a wealthy family, but she found her life very restrictive and wanted to be free of her parents. They later died under suspicious circumstances, and Anna lived with the other orphans on the streets of London, joining the Blighters gang. Abramson ran a gang of pickpockets, although she called the children immature and selfish. In 1868, she was kidnapped by Jacob Frye after a short chase at her Southwark hideout near Waterloo Station and was taken to the Metropolitan Police Service for a bounty. She died of illness in 1876 while still behind bars.
