Angus Elliston

Angus Elliston (1846-) was an American train station clerk who worked at the Emerald Ranch, Victory Street, and Wallace train stations during the late 19th century.

Biography[]

Angus Elliston was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1846, and his father encouraged him to work for the postal service, as it was an honest job. However, Elliston became disillusioned with his profession due to its low pay, and Alden Carruthers persuaded a reluctant and bitter Elliston to relent to crooked means, such as selling robbery tips. In 1898, he became a contact of the Arizona Kid, who accepted jobs from the curmudgeon Elliston.
