Angus is a historical region and lieutenancy area of Scotland, with Forfar serving as its capital. Named for King Oengus I of the Picts, Angus was originally part of the Pictish kingdom of Circenn, and it was thus marketed as the birthplace of the Kingdom of Scotland. By 2019, Angus had a population of 116,040 people.
