Angelica Sale was an Italian Romani woman who was the daughter of crime boss Vincenzo Sale and the wife of drug dealer Spadino Anacleti. She married Spadino in an arranged marriage in 2008, and, while Angelica was a cheerful young woman, her husband refused to show any affection for her, as he was a closeted homosexual. He emotionally mistreated Angelica, who once considered leaving him before her brother-in-law Manfredi Anacleti mediated their differences and persuaded Angelica to remain with her husband.
