Angel Pina

Angel Pina (1778-early May 1811) was a Colonel of the Spanish Army during the Peninsular War.

Biography[]

Angel Pina was born in Navarra in northern Spain, and was a farmer for most of his life. However, in 1811 he took up arms as the colonel of a regiment of Fusiliers loyal to the Spanish Bourbon household in a rebellion against Bonapartist Spain during the Peninsular War. Fighting under the command of Colonel Manolete Ortiz, Pina was the last survivor of his regiment, which was chased down by Chasseurs a Cheval during the Battle of Navarra. Pina was the last of his men, and was cut down by French cavalry while fleeing.
