Andy Marshall (1852 - 29 July 1900) was an American captain of the US Marines Corps who fought in the Boxer Rebellion.
Biography[]
Andy Marshall was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1852. He joined the US Marines in 1873. He was then stationed in China in 1895, where he met a Chinese woman who he fell in love with, before having a daughter with her. Marshall was sent to the Philippines during the Spanish-American War and went back to China with Major General John Twiggs Myers in 1900. Andy and Teresa met again, but the Boxer Rebellion started and the Legation Quarter was put under siege for the next 55 days. On the 29th of July, boxers tried to assault the wall, but they were repelled. During the battle Andy was shot, and he died at the hospital.
