Andrey Khryashchev

Andrey Khryashchev (1900-1982) was a Lieutenant-General of the Soviet Red Army during World War II.

Biography[]

Andrey Khryashchev was born in 1900, and he joined the Red Army during the Russian Civil War in 1919. In 1927, he graduated from the Frunze Military Academy before graduating from the General Staff Academy ten years later, and he became a Major-General and Chief-of-Staff of the Transcaucasian Military District. During World War II, he commanded the Soviet 44th Army and served on the staff of several Soviet fronts, helping in planning out offensives and defensive operations. In 1953, he was promoted to Lieutenant-General, and he entered the reserve of the Red Army. He died in 1982.
