
Andrew Williams (27 August 1828 – 6 October 1907) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NY 18) from 4 March 1875 to 3 March 1879, succeeding William A. Wheeler and preceding John Hammond.
Biography[]
Andrew Williams was born in Ormstown, Quebec, Canada in 1828, and he immigrated to the United States in 1852 and settled in Plattsburgh, New York. He engaged in nail manufacturing before going on to serve in the US House of Representatives from 1875 to 1879, as a bank president from 1881 to 1888, as superintendent of waterworks from 1889 to 1902, as treasurer of Clinton County from 1891 to 1905, and on the Plattsburgh Board of Education until his death in 1907.
