Andrew Procter Grant (22 July 1945 – 21 January 1968) was a marine of the US Marine Corps who was awarded the Bronze Star during the Vietnam War.

Biography[]

Andrew Procter Grant was born in Saratoga, New York on 22 July 1945. Grant was drafted into the US Marine Corps at the age of 23 in 1968, and sent to fight in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Trained at Khe Sanh, he fought in the defense of the base during the Tet Offensive's January 1968 battle of Khe Sanh. Grant picked up an M60 and held the trenches of the base alongside Private Andrew B. Netson, and the two were killed in action holding the trenches alone against a wave of North Vietnamese Army troops. Both were awarded Bronze Stars for their bravery.
