Andrew Leslie (1888-1918) was a British Army lieutenant who served in the Yorkshire Regiment (better known as the "Green Howards") during World War I. In 1917, he was stationed on the front lines during the Imperial German Army's Operation Alberich, and he guided corporals Will Schofield and Tom Blake to a point from which they could cross no man's land on a reconnaissance mission the disillusioned Leslie thought to be suicidal.
