Andrew Abakouni (born 17 June 1992) was a British member of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Biography[]
Andrew Abakouni was born on 17 June 1992 in Brixton, London, England to a family of Nigerians that immigrated to the United Kingdom in the aftermath of the Nigerian Civil War. Abakouni converted to Islam at a young age, and he expressed admiration for Germaine Lindsay, a Jamaican convert to Islam and one of the participants in the 7/7 attacks of 7 July 2005. Abakouni joined Hizb ut-Tahrir, and in 2015 he joined Pamir Marwat, Badam Razavi, and Yoon Bulfati in planning a 7/7-style attack on behalf of the Islamic State in 2015. The four of them were arrested by the Metropolitan Police when their plot was discovered.
