Andreas (last name unknown) was a member of the Red Army Faction, a communist terrorist group from West Germany. He was known to have unwittingly assisted Mossad in assassinating Wael Zwaiter and introducing them to Le Group.
Biography[]
Andreas was a German communist who joined the Red Army Faction (Baader-Meinhof Group). Andreas wanted to rise through the ranks to the upper echelon, and in October 1972, he got his chance when covert Mossad operative Avner Kaufman offered him $300,000 if he would help him track down Wael Zwaiter, a Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) leader in Italy. Andreas needed to get the money so that he could advance his own standing in the group. He did not ask any questions, because the RAF needed hard currency to fund their operations; had he known that Kaufman worked for Israel, he might not have worked with him.
Andreas and his fellow RAF member Yvonne decided to work with Kaufman, and they headed to Rome, where they found out that Zwaiter was in the city. Andreas sent Yvonne to help Kaufman with the assassination. After Zwaiter was murdered, Andreas helped Kaufman to continue his operations by introducing him to Le Group, a private intelligence organization from France led by former French Resistance fighter "Papa".
