Andre Bishop

Andre Bishop (born 1985) is an American former mixed martial artist and boxer, having held the WBA Heavyweight belt for five years after his knockout of Isaac Frost in 2011. Fighting as a middleweight, Bishop previously won a gold medal at the 2007 IBA World Boxing Championships when he knocked out reigning champion Joel Savon. Though he quickly climbed the ranks after turning pro, Bishop's career was halted by corrupt boxing manager D.L. McQueen when he sent two corrupt cops to frame and arrest Bishop.

After spending five years in prison, increasing his weight substantially while inside, Bishop climbed the ranks once again as a heavyweight. However, Bishop's brother, Raymond, was looking for a shot at the heavyweight titleholder Isaac Frost; this resulted in the Bishop brothers fighting each other, though Andre lost his motivation and ultimately was TKO'd. After Raymond's career was ended by Frost, Andre was next in line to fight Frost after McQueen's daughter and Andre's promoter, Megan, blackmailed her father. In a grueling fight, Bishop managed to gas Frost out and ultimately knock him out, winning the belt.

After a five-year reign, Bishop retired from boxing. He then became a mixed martial artist, eventually fighting a grudge match with Frost in the UFC; Bishop managed to win after delivering a vicious ground-and-pound to Frost. Both fighters retired from combat sports afterward.
