André Hermann was an Alsatian French militiaman who served in the 10th Regiment of Militia, mustered at Strasbourg in 1805, during the Napoleonic Wars. Attached to Marshal Michel Ney's corps, he first fought at the Battle of Bettlern in Bohemia in April 1805.
