The Anconine Republic was a revolutionary municipality that existed from 19 November 1797 to 7 March 1798, existing in the Marche region of Italy with Ancona as its capital. The republic declared independence from the Papal States in violation of the Treaty of Campo Formio, and the French First Republic took the Anconine Republic under its protection. This led to further conflicts between France and the Pope, and the Armee d'Italie occupied the rest of the Papal States in March 1798, creating the Roman Republic, which incorporated Ancona.
