Anas el-Abboubi (born 1993) was a Moroccan Islamic State fighter. He lived in Vobarno, Lombardy, Italy, and he became a Salafist, leading to his arrest in 2013. In September of that same year, he left to fight in the Syrian Civil War. In 2012, Anas was featured on MTV Italy in a music video, and he became a rapper. In 2016, he was reported to have been killed in Syria in a drone strike. Anas was designated by the US Department of State as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, and he was later found to be alive and captured. On 29 November 2017, Anas was placed on trial, and on 13 December 2018 he was sentenced to 6–7 years for terrorism.
