Ananias of Damascus was a disciple of Jesus at Damascus who restored the sight of Paul the Apostle and taught him about Christianity.
Biography[]
Ananias lived in Damascus, ane he became a followed of the early Christian Church under Jesus. He was a devout man according to the law and had a good report of all the Jews, and, in 33 AD, Ananias received a vision of Jesus, who told him to go to the house of Judas and ask for a man from Tarsus, Saul. Although he was initially apprehensive of healing a former enemy of Christianity, he restored his sight and taught him about the Christian faith. He later warned Saul of a plot to kill him, and Saul escaped.
