Anacleto Frangipane was an Italian Roman Catholic priest who lived on the Sicilian island of Stromboli during the 1940s. He served as a middle-man between those who had left the island and those who remained, looking after the possessions of the emigres, and attempting to help those who chose to stay. In 1948, he served as one of Lithuanian immigrant Karin Bjornsen's confidants, but he rebuffed her romantic advances in spite of her unhappy relationship with her husband and Frangipane's acquaintance, Antonio Mastrostefano.
