Biography[]

Amy Savell Kennedy was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1975, and she married Democratic congressman Patrick J. Kennedy, making her the daughter-in-law of US Senator Ted Kennedy. In 2020, running on a progressive platform, she sought election to the US House of Representatives from NJ-2, and - with the endorsement of Governor Phil Murphy - she defeated Brigid Callahan Harrison (who was backed by powerful Democratic politicians such as Cory Booker, Bob Menendez, George Norcross, and Stephen Sweeney).
