Amy Ford

Amy Ford was an American nurse who spoke at the 2020 Republican National Convention. She was born and raised in Williamson, West Virginia, the daughter of a coal miner and a nurse. Ford became a registered nurse in 2003 and was deployed to New York City and San Antonio amid the COVID-19 pandemic. She endorsed Donald Trump for re-election, falsely claiming that he had recognized the danger of COVID-19 early on and had made immediate policy changes to combat it. Ford also claimed that Trump's "quick action and leadership" saved thousands of lives from COVID, although it was not until July 2020 that he began to encourage the wearing of masks and the use of social distancing in public places.
