Amphiaraos of Gela (died 379 BC) was Basileus of the Sikelians in 379 BC. In the summer of 379 BC, he led a migratory horde of Sikelians from the mountains of central Sicily southward, descending on the Syracusan Greek town of Gela with the intent of capturing it and re-establishing a native Sicilian kingdom. Amphiaraos' large army was no match for the small, but disciplined garrison of Gela, and Amphiaraos was slain and his army destroyed, its remnants melting away into the countryside.
