Amonius of Orbetello (born 727) was the Prince-Bishop of Orbetello in the Papal States and a cardinal on the College of Cardinals.
Biography[]
Amonius was born in 727 to a family of Catholic Italians, and he was ordained as the prince-bishop of Orbetello in Italy. In 774 he accepted Patrician Arnolfo of Dandolo into his realm when he fled from the Republic of Venice. Amonius was given a seat in the College of Cardinals on 22 May 779 while researching economy in Rome, and he was also appointed as a commander and the Steward of the Papal States.
