Amir-Ali Hajizadeh (28 February 1962-) was commander of the Iranian IRGC Air Force from October 2009.
Biography[]
Amir-Ali Hajizadeh was born in Tehran, Iran in 1962, and he served in the IRGC sniper corps during several battles of the Iran-Iraq War. After the formation of the IRGC's air force in 2009, Hajizadeh became its first commander, and he masterminded Iran's air campaign against ISIL in Iraq. He also commanded Operation Martyr Soleimani in January 2020, targeting a United States military base in Iraqi Kurdistan.
