The American Populist Party is a minor political party in the United States, founded in 2009. The party was founded by a coalition of grassroots activists from both the left and the right, and it supported a balanced budget, opposed corporate personhood, supported the US Constitution, supported individualized political contributions, supported "natural rights", and supported states' rights. The party's fiscal conservative and social liberal views led to it being branded as a classical liberal or libertarian party.
