The American Liberation Front (ALF) was an American communist organization that existed in San Francisco, California during the 1960s. Led by Coyote Bongwater and Prudence Kane, the ALF grew out of the city's counterculture movement and hosted rallies and "love-ins" at Golden Gate Park. The ALF was used by the Soviet KGB as a front for its 1969 San Francisco nuclear bomb plot, with the ALF distributing the hallucinogenic drink "Revelade" to the city's hippie community. However, the ALF's Revelade blimps and tanks across the city were destroyed and Bongwater killed in events attributed by the counterculture community to an "alien invasion", forcing the KGB to resort to attempting to launch a nuclear attack on the city with exploding vans. These vans were found dumped in the San Francisco Bay in another inexplicable event, thwarting the Soviet agent Ivan Oranchov's backup plan. The ALF dissolved following the death of its leader.
