Amel Djermouni was a French drug dealer who lived in Marseille during the 2010s. She served as an informant for policeman Antoine Civil, who paid her in marijuana; she helped Civil and the Anti-Crime Brigades (BAC) in several drug busts against the drug gangs in northern Marseille, and the police even paid her five kilograms of marijuana for her help with a major operation in the aftermath of Khalif Zerhouni's filmed torture. However, Civil and two of his colleagues were arrested for racketeering and drug trafficking for confiscating drugs in order to pay Djermouni, and Civil unwittingly led the police to Djermouni, whose arrest ensured that the three policemen would be found innocent.
