Aluar of Castile (1138-) was an admiral of the Kingdom of Castile.
Biography[]
Aluar of Castile was an admiral of the Kingdom of Castile during the Reconquista of the 1100s, commanding Castile's small navy in the Mediterranean. He only occasionally fought the Moors, Spain's main enemy, mainly fighting the Kingdom of Sicily's navy off the coast of Sicily. He also attacked Milanese and Venetian ships, and earned the trait of being a worthy admiral. Aluar understood the concepts of chain of command, but knew little what orders to give. Yet, his navy won several battles and prevented a seaborne invasion of Spain.
