Alsey T. Higginbothom (died May 1865) was a Confederate States Army bushwhacker who served under William T. Anderson during the American Civil War. He fought under Anderson and Captain John V. Fletcher in several raids and skirmishes against the Union in Kansas and Missouri, and, at the end of the war in May 1865, Fletcher persuaded him and all of the members of their raider band to surrender to James Henry Lane's brigade at its camp at Gower, Missouri. When the men were lined up to swear a loyalty oath to the Union, they were ambushed by a Gatling gun after the Union officer administering the oath called them, "Verminous, lying, Missouri scum," and all of the soldiers apart from Jamie Bottoms were instantly mown down and killed.
