Alphonse Berthon (1779-1814) was a colonel of France.
Biography[]
Alphonse Berthon was born in Saumur, France in 1779. He was called up in the levee en masse in 1795 at the age of 16, and he fought on the Rhine. Berthon was made a colonel in 1813 after service in the Napoleonic Wars, and he was killed in the Battle of Denain on 10 February 1814.
