Alpheus P. Hodges (1821-29 July 1858) was the Democratic Mayor of Los Angeles from 1 July 1850 to 7 May 1851, succeeding Stephen Clark Foster and preceding Benjamin Davis Wilson.
Biography[]
Alpheus P. Hodges was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1821, and he traveled to San Francisco in 1849 and became the coroner and Mayor of Los Angeles from 1850 to 1851. He later returned to Virginia, and he died in Alexandria in 1858.
