
Alparslan Celik () was a Turkish member of the Grey Wolves and the deputy commander of a Syrian Turkmen Brigades unit during the Syrian Civil War.
Biography[]
Celik was born in Keban, Elazig Province, Turkey, and he was the son of the mayor of Keban. Celik joined the neo-fascist Grey Wolves paramilitary, which sought to unite Turks and Turkmen from Turkey to Central Asia. Celik joined a brigade of Syrian Turkmen in northern Syria attached to the Syrian Opposition during the Syrian Civil War, and on 24 November 2015 he claimed responsibility for the killing of parachuting Lieutenant-Colonel Oleg Peshkov of the Russian Air Force after his Su-24 was shot down by the Turkish government in Turkish airspace.
