Alonzo Y. Hartley (1860-1898) was an American deputy sheriff who lived in Tumbleweed, Apache County, Arizona during the 1890s. In 1898, his rudeness towards the bounty hunter Arizona Kid, who had just re-entered town after his bounty on Jaime Castillo was ruined by the intervention of the hositle civilian Robertson K. Dewise, led to Arizona squaring off with him. When Hartley threatened Arizona, Arizona drew a revolver, and, before Hartley could shoot Arizona, Arizona shot Hartley in the chest and then in the forehead, killing him.
