Allobroges

The Allobroges were a Gallic tribe of pre-Roman Gaul who lived between the Rhone River and Lake Geneva in what became Savoy, Dauphine, and Vivarais. In 121 BC, the Roman Republic forced the Allobroges to submit, and Allobroges took part in the Roman general Julius Caesar's invasion of Gaul. They were later Romanized during the Roman Empire.
