The Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) is a social democratic political political party in the Republika Srpska. During the 1990s, the party was the only opposition to the Serb Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was led by Radovan Karadzic. The party was a moderate and non-extremist alternative to the Serb Democratic Party, holding center-left economic views and right-wing social views. Since 2006, the SNSD abandoned its reformist ideology for a more aggressive advocacy of Serbian nationalism.
