The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is a social democratic political party in the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The party was founded by the Tamil actor M.G. Ramachandran in 1972, splintering from the democratic socialist Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party. The party opposed ethnic exclusion, and it appealed to the poorer segments of Tamil society such as rickshaw pullers, destitute women, and beggars. In 2017, the party held 37/545 Lok Sabha seats and 13/245 Rajya Sabha seats, the third largest party in the Lok Sabha.
