Biography[]
Alina Yesipova was born in Russia in 1998, and she was raised in Boston, Massachusetts after her family emigrated to the United States. She became a prostitute at a young age, working for Slavi Kosma's "Russian Nights" escort service, and meeting her clients at a diner in Roxbury. In 2014, she befriended the Home Mart employee Robert McCall, who frequented the diner at night to read his books. One night, while McCall was walking Yesipova home, he and Yesipova's farewell was interrupted when Kosma and Tevi Krutov drove up to them, slapped Yesipova for fighting with a previous client, and forced her to come with them, while telling McCall that Yesipova was no good and offering him another girl, mistaking him for a client. That night, the mobsters severely beat Yesipova, hospitalizing her. McCall avenged her, first by taking out Kosma and his men, and later by eliminating the whole Pushkin crime family after his intervention earned him powerful enemies in Russia. Before Yesipova recovered, McCall secretly left her an envelope of $10,000 and a ticket out of town, and, while Yesipova mistook the money for "hush money" from the Mafia, she decided to take advantage of it and make a fresh start for herself elsewhere. She thanked McCall for his help and told him that she would miss his stories, but he said that ehs had her own, now that she had taken up reading books.
