Alim Zankishiev

Alim Zankishiev (8 March 1982-27 March 2012), also known as Emir Ubaidullah, was a commander of the Caucasus Emirate.

Biography[]

Alim Zankishiev was born in the Kabardino-Balkar ASSR of the Soviet Union on 8 March 1982 to an ethnic Balkar family, and in 2006 he was put on the Russian wanted list for illegal acquisition of weapons and attacks on Russian police while a member of the Caucasus Emirate. He later rose to become the leader of the Yarmuk Jamaat in March 2011 after Russian law enforcement eradicated the organization and their boss Asker Dzhappuyev. He was killed when Russia raided his house in Nalchik on 27 March 2012.
