Alice Butler Short was State Director of Virginia Women for Trump during the 2016 presidential election. She was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, and she married a Chinese-American military attache and Vietnam War veteran, living in Hong Kong for 13 years and having 3 sons (the oldest of whom was an active duty US Army colonel who graduated from the Army War College in 2016, the middle being a successful businessman, and the youngest being a DEA agent). She lived in seven countries (including Somalia and Singapore), was a citizen of four countries, and moved to the United States, and she claimed that she appreciated the USA more than many people. Butler Short founded Virginia Women for Trump after hearing Trump speak at CPAC in 2015 and after he announced his candidacy in 2016, claiming that she had been with him since before "day one". On 29 October 2016, she spoke to Asian.GOP in Fairfax County, telling the audience about her voting bloc and her life story.
