
Ali the Weaponsmith (22 August 825-22 December 870) was an Andalusian weaponsmith from al-Hanim (Chania, Crete). On 23 November 870, at the recommendation of Sheikh Lubb of Naxos, he was hired by Emir Salim Iqritishi to make a scimitar for him. On 22 December, he was caught having an affair with Emira Theochariste of the Iqritishi Emirate, so he was executed.
