Ali Khalif Shire Ali (born 1997) was an Islamic State sympathizer from Somalia who was arrested in November 2017 for plotting a mass shooting in Melbourne, Australia.
Biography[]
Ali Khalif Shire Ali was born in Weribee, Australia in 1997 to a family of Somali refugees, and his brother was Hassan Khalif Shire Ali. He worked for the WIX computer repair shop in Footscray, and he, alongside his brother, became a radical Islamist. In 2017, he plotted a terrorist attack at Federation Square on New Year's Eve, but he was arrested the November before and charged with terrorism.
