Ali Karaki

Ali Karaki (1967-27 September 2024) was a member of the Jihad Council of Hezbollah and the commander of the group's Southern Front.

Biography[]

Ali Karaki was born in Ain Bouswar, Nabatieh Governorate, Lebanon in 1967, and he joined Hezbollah during the Lebanese Civil War. He rose to be a member of Hezbollah's supreme command, the Jihad Council, as well as acquiring Guinean citizenship. He was involved in Hezbollah's rocket strikes on northern Israel, for which Israe marked him for death. Karaki survived a car bombing in Nabatieh in February 2024, took over Ibrahim Aqil's responsibilities after his death on 20 September 2024, and was killed by the Israeli Air Force during Operation New Order; he and Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah were kileld when Israel bombed their subterranean bunker in Beirut.
