Alfred Moisiu (1 December 1929-) was President of Albania from 24 July 2002 to 24 July 2007, succeeding Rexhep Meidani and preceding Bamir Topi.
Biography[]
Alfred Moisiu was born in Shkoder, Albania in 1929, and he served in the military of the communist regime; Enver Hoxha had Moisiu build bunkers across the country. In 1984, he left active service as a general, but he served as Defense Minister from 1991 to 1992. From 2002 to 2007, he served as President of Albania, having been a consensus pick. He left office in 2007.
