Alfred "Freddy Hot" DiCongilio (9 May 1929–24 August 2017) was a soldier in the Gambino crime family. He was a member of Dominick Pizzonia's crew.
Biography[]
Alfred DiCongilio was born on 9 May 1929 to an Italian-American family in Ozone Park, Queens. He eventually joined the Gambino crime family and worked as a bookmaker, amassing a long arrest sheet for gambling offenses. During the 1980s, he was close to Dominick Pizzonia, and when Pizzonia was ordered to kill associate Frank Boccia in June 1988, DiCongilio was chosen as a lookout on the hit. He and others lured Boccia to Pizzonia's Café Liberty Social Club where Pizzonia shot him multiple times in the back porch of the club, later dumping his body in the Atlantic Ocean. DiCongilio became a made man in the Gambino family at an old age during the early 2000s, and in 2005, he and Pizzonia were charged with the Boccia murder. However, due to a lack of evidence, the jury found them not guilty, and DiCongilio walked away free in 2007. He died on 24 August 2017, aged 88.
