Alexandre Dhaussy

Alexandre Dhaussy (1990-) was a French Muslim convert and al-Qaeda sympathizer who injured French soldier Cedric Cordier in a knife attack, three days after the murder of Lee Rigby by Michael Adebowale and Michael Adebolajo, on 25 May 2013.

Biography[]

Alexandre Dhaussy was born in 1990 in France to a Catholic family, but he later converted to Islam. Since 2009, he had a police record as a criminal, being unemployed and homeless. By February 2013, he had become a radical Islamist, having turned down a job that required him to work with women, as well as refusing to wait for a bus next to women. On 25 May 2013, inspired by the murder of British Army fusilier Lee Rigby by two Christian converts to Islam, Dhaussy approached Private First Class Cedric Cordier from behind as Cordier was patrolling an underground hall in La Defenese. Dhaussy attacked him with a knife, stabbing him in the neck and fleeing into the crowded shopping area, evading Cordier's colleagues. However, he was later arrested by French authorities and brought to justice.
